https://mail.equity.ubb.ac.id/index.php/equity/article/view/308

Poverty in the Riau Islands Province will be studied from 2018 to 2023 with a focus on how it affects HDI and unemployment rates. We analyzed secondary data obtained by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) using quantitative methods in this research which uses a documentation approach. Random Effect Model (REM) was selected as the best estimation model after a series of panel data tests, including Chow, Hausman, and Legrange Multiplier tests. Unemployment has a significant and positive effect on poverty according to this research (coefficient = 3971.224). This means there is an increase of 39% in the underprivileged population for every 1% increase in the unemployment rate. There is a positive and statistically significant correlation between HDI and poverty (r=2086.092), which shows that a 1% increase in HDI means an increase in poverty of 20%. The findings from this study show increasing employment opportunities and improving the quality of human resources as potential efforts to reduce poverty in the Riau Islands Province.
Azhar SugandaNovi RamadhiniPutri Nabila HarahapEko Wahyu NugrahadiGrace Gultom

https://mail.equity.ubb.ac.id/index.php/equity/article/view/294

Indonesia is a prospective country for everyone to decide on an investment. There are four reasons to strengthen the motivation to invest some capital in the maritime industry sector. Moreover, Indonesia has approximately 342 shipbuilding companies and 127 ship component companies which spread out throughout the nation. However, Indonesia has no engine maker company yet and this is an opportunity for all investors who want to establish their own engine company or a branch in this country. The biggest opportunity is in the fishery sector with a growing number of fishing vessels and the Indonesian marine fishery production potential as the largest archipelagic country is still increasing. Furthermore, other opportunities are passenger ships, cargo ships, and tug boats because they have a significant number in the nation. In addition, Indonesia also gives several incentives to new investors, like a tax allowance, a super tax deduction, and an import duty facility. Ultimately, the prospect has been considered to involve responsibilities among shipowners, shipyards, main engine manufacturers, and the government.
Andi KomaraKevin Theodore Putra IrothSungkono SungkonoJohn Samuel SaragihSarifah Ulfa SahubawaMaulina Dwiwanti

https://mail.equity.ubb.ac.id/index.php/equity/article/view/284

The food and beverage industry in Indonesia is growing rapidly at the moment. Indeed, Indonesia is currently undergoing an economic transformation towards industrialization and services. Therefore, one of the factors that can support the acceleration of industrialization in Indonesia is to look at the linkages between the food and beverage industry sector, which makes the largest contribution to the manufacturing sector, and other industrial sectors. This study examines the linkages between the food and beverage industry and other manufacturing sectors, as well as the resulting income multipliers. The data used in this study is Indonesia's 2021 input-output data obtained from BPS. The analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis, linkage analysis, and multiplier analysis. The results showed that the food and beverage industry sector contributed 23.15% of the gross value added of the manufacturing industry. The IFL value of 1.1703 and the IBL value of 1.2092 indicate that the food and beverage industry has strong linkages with the downstream and upstream sectors. When multipliers, specifically income, are considered, each demand for the food and beverage industry of 1 rupiah, results in a total increase in income in the sector of Rp 345,911,027.
Junifer TaminBernadette RobianiM TeguhMukhlis Mukhlis

https://mail.equity.ubb.ac.id/index.php/equity/article/view/310

Technological advances are causing rapid and comprehensive changes, especially in the digital economy sector. The strength of a society's digital competitiveness is an important asset to support the growth of the national digital economy and attract foreign direct investment. This study aims to identify the simultaneous relationship between the Digital Competitiveness Index (IDSD) and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The method used is Two Stage Least Squares (2SLS) to overcome endogeneity problems in existing regression models, using STATA 17 software for calculations. The data analyzed are panel data from 34 provinces in Indonesia for 4 years (2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023). The analysis shows that in the FDI model, IDSD, GRDP growth rate, and non-oil and gas exports have a significant effect on FDI. However, in the IDSD model, FDI has no significant effect on IDSD, while fintech lending and ICT capability of the community have a significant effect on IDSD. Based on the results, there is no simultaneous relationship between FDI and IDSD.
Nurul HanaRalditiya Rifki JanuarHaifa Kinanti

https://mail.equity.ubb.ac.id/index.php/equity/article/view/318

Technology and innovation are the keys used to unlock the impossible imagination to become possible to achieve the unforeseen goals of individuals and organizations. This study focuses on the role of an unprecedented phenomenon called central bank digital currency (CBDC) over physical currency. This study uses a descriptive research method with a quantitative approach. This study is a literature review study aimed at describing the phenomenon. This study assesses the role of CBDC based on three parameters such as features, perceived benefits and challenges of CBDC and Physical Currency. It also reveals that CBDC can replace the use of physical currency only depending on how people, businesses perceive the features, benefits (better allocation, accessibility, interest bearing, convertibility and reduced costs) and possible challenges (opposite of benefits) associated with CBDC compared to its counterpart.
Indah NoviyantiAry Fakturrachman AryansyahIza GuspianNovita Herlissha
